LotteryHUB™ named Best Brand App

AUSTIN, Texas (May 14, 2015). Shoutz won a 2015 Hubbies award on Tuesday. LotteryHUB, an official mobile app of Powerball and Mega Millions, was named this year’s Best Brand App.
The Hubbies, awarded each year by Haymarket Media Group subsidiary The Hub, celebrate breakthrough digital campaigns and the platforms that enable them, and honor work that “sets the standard for what brands and marketing platforms can achieve.”
This year’s entries were judged on their level of innovation, consumer engagement, business impact and use of digital analytics. LotteryHUB was named the Best Brand App winner out of a group of mobile apps including Audi USA’s A3 app, the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport App, and Sylvan Learning’s SylvanPlay Mobile Games Network.
LotteryHUB was recognized for its ability to generate brand awareness and ongoing engagement, drive app downloads, and encourage customer loyalty.
Shoutz’s entry showed how the app accomplishes those goals by streaming live Powerball and Mega Millions drawings, serving custom video content and providing lottery players with ticket-tracking tools to make play more convenient.
The entry also detailed a six-month messaging campaign, which launched after the introduction of a message preference center that allowed players to opt-in for new, more detailed messaging.
During that six-month time frame, message subscription increased about 25 percent each month; emails from LotteryHUB boasted a 56 percent overall open rate, with a 31 percent click-through rate; and push notifications were opened about 36 percent of the time.
Shoutz’s Front Flip app was also a finalist in this year’s Hubbies Awards, nominated as one of the Most Innovative Mobile Marketing Platforms. Front Flip combines the fun of mobile gaming with powerful re-engagement strategies to encourage brand loyalty and drive sales.
